Post to social media from ChatGPT

OmniSocials works in ChatGPT as a custom MCP plugin. ChatGPT talks to the hosted OmniSocials MCP server directly, so there is nothing to install locally. You don't need Developer mode: since July 2026, ChatGPT adds custom MCP servers from Plugins.

• ChatGPT Plus and Pro: add it yourself.
• Business, Enterprise and Edu: an admin or owner adds it for the workspace.

Setup

1. Add a custom MCP server. On ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, click + and choose Add custom MCP server. Use these values:

   • Name: OmniSocials
   • Connection, Server URL: https://mcp.omnisocials.com
   • Authentication: OAuth
   • Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin.

2. Sign in and authorize. OmniSocials opens: pick which workspaces ChatGPT can see, then click Allow access.

3. Use it in a chat. Type @, pick OmniSocials and ask:

   Can you list my connected accounts on OmniSocials?

   If ChatGPT responds with your accounts, the connection is live.

Working with images and videos

Use ChatGPT on web or desktop for the best experience. You can drag-and-drop images or videos directly into the chat and they'll flow straight into your OmniSocials posts. No extra steps, no separate hosting.

Other ways to add media:

• Already-hosted media. Paste any public image or video URL into the chat.
• AI-generated images. Ask ChatGPT to create the image with DALL·E and it'll be used automatically.

ChatGPT mobile

Attached files on ChatGPT mobile don't pass through correctly yet (known OpenAI bug). Switch to web or desktop if you can. For images, you can also upload to imgbb.com (no account needed) and paste the returned link into the chat.

What you can ask

ChatGPT can do everything the OmniSocials API supports:

• "Create a LinkedIn post about our new feature and schedule it for tomorrow at 9am"
• "Schedule this video as a Pinterest pin with a matching title and caption" (with a video attached)
• "Show me the top performing post from last week"
• "What webhooks do I have set up?"
• "Work through my unanswered Instagram comments one at a time and draft a reply for each" (ChatGPT pulls the next unanswered comment with the post it is on, drafts, sends, and moves to the next one)
• "Hide that spam comment on yesterday's Facebook post"

If you have multiple workspaces, ChatGPT will ask which one to use the first time, and remember the pick for the rest of the conversation.

See your post as a card

When ChatGPT makes, changes or publishes a post, the post shows up in the chat as a card: the post the way each platform will show it, the state of every channel, and a button that opens it in OmniSocials. Show all channels opens the card full screen with every channel side by side.

Added OmniSocials before October 2026? ChatGPT keeps the tool list from the day you added the app, so open chatgpt.com/plugins, open OmniSocials and click Refresh once, then start a new chat. Every answer about a post also ends with an "Open in OmniSocials" link.

Limitations

• ChatGPT mobile can't yet receive attached files via the Apps SDK. Web and desktop work fine.
• Plugins you add stay installed across sessions.
• ChatGPT saves the app's tool list when you add it and does not pick up new tools on its own. After an OmniSocials update, open chatgpt.com/plugins, open the OmniSocials app and click Refresh (if there is no Refresh button, delete and re-create the app). Then start a new chat. The mobile apps use the same connection, so they pick up the change too.
