ChatGPT

OmniSocials works with ChatGPT through the Apps feature (developer mode). ChatGPT talks to the hosted OmniSocials MCP endpoint directly, so there is nothing to install locally. Available on any ChatGPT plan, including free.

Setup

1. Enable Developer mode in ChatGPT. Open ChatGPT Settings → Apps → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. Required to add custom MCP apps.

2. Create the OmniSocials app. Click Create app and use these values:

   • MCP Server URL: https://mcp.omnisocials.com/
   • Authentication: OAuth
   • Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create.

3. Sign in and authorize. You'll be redirected to OmniSocials to approve access. Pick which workspaces ChatGPT can see, then click Allow.

4. Verify. Open a new ChatGPT conversation and ask:

   Can you list my connected accounts on OmniSocials?

   If ChatGPT responds with your accounts, the connection is live.

Working with images and videos

Use ChatGPT on web or desktop for the best experience. You can drag-and-drop images or videos directly into the chat and they'll flow straight into your OmniSocials posts. No extra steps, no separate hosting.

Other ways to add media:

• Already-hosted media. Paste any public image or video URL into the chat.
• AI-generated images. Ask ChatGPT to create the image with DALL·E and it'll be used automatically.

ChatGPT mobile

Attached files on ChatGPT mobile don't pass through correctly yet (known OpenAI bug). Switch to web or desktop if you can. For images, you can also upload to imgbb.com (no account needed) and paste the returned link into the chat.

What you can ask

ChatGPT can do everything the OmniSocials API supports:

• "Create a LinkedIn post about our new feature and schedule it for tomorrow at 9am"
• "Schedule this video as a Pinterest pin with a matching title and caption" (with a video attached)
• "Show me the top performing post from last week"
• "What webhooks do I have set up?"

If you have multiple workspaces, ChatGPT will ask which one to use the first time, and remember the pick for the rest of the conversation.

Limitations

• ChatGPT mobile can't yet receive attached files via the Apps SDK. Web and desktop work fine.
• Custom MCP apps require Developer mode to be enabled. Apps you've added stay installed across sessions.
• ChatGPT caches the tool definitions when you first add the app. If you've been using the connector since before a recent update, delete and re-create it to refresh.
